JBJ was a group formed as a result of “Produce 101 Season 2”. Although Wanna One was the resulting debut group from the show, there were some fan-favorite contestants that stood out and had fans wishing they could debut in a group together. They became an imagined boy group that eventually became a reality as the fan-formed project group JBJ. JBJ debuted in 2017 and unfortunately disbanded in 2018. Which leads to the question, where are the JBJ members now 3 years after their disband and what are they doing? Let’s find out what each member is up to!
1. Roh TaeHyun
After JBJ disbanded, Roh TaeHyun returned to the boy group that he was in before, HOTSHOT. HOTSHOT was a 6-member group including members such as Ha SungWoon. Unfortunately, the group disbanded in March of this year. He has since been participating in musicals and even sang the OST for the web drama “Summer Guys” that former JBJ groupmate HyunBin acted in.
2. Kim DongHan
Kim DongHan made his solo debut after JBJ disbanded and released 3 EPs. He also made his musical debut with the musical “Iron Mask” alongside former groupmate Roh TaeHyun. Kim DongHan later debuted in the group WEi in 2020 and is currently active as a member of that group.
3-4. Kenta and SangGyun
Shortly after JBJ disbanded, it was announced that Kenta and SangGyun would form a group called JBJ95 and continue promoting. They have released a number of EPs as a duo. Unfortunately, in April of 2021, it was announced that they were trying to terminate their contracts and are in a lawsuit with their agency to do so.
5. Jin Longguo
After the disband, Jin Longguo (also known by his Korean name Kim YongGuk) made his solo debut. He became involved in a number of controversies and went off the radar for a while afterward. After some failed attempts to debut into other groups, he released a solo album in 2019 called “Mono Diary”. It was reported that he has recently returned to China. According to his Instagram, he will be releasing a photobook soon.
6. HyunBin
HyunBin’s variety show and drama acting career took off after JBJ disbanded. He debuted under YGX and even released solo music under the stage name VIINI. You might actually spot him in the new historical romance K-Drama “The Red Sleeve”. Have you been keeping up with the members’ activities?
