Composed of members Lim JiMin, GeonU, Bain, JM, DY, and SangWoo, the keyword for this comeback is “equality”, which is partly why the title is composed of the sign =, as well as the word neun, which is a Korean particle allowing the interlocutor to be included in a discussion according to the interpretation that can be made. This little syllable, therefore, allows inclusion, which can thus personify the message that the group wishes to deliver in this album. The album has five songs: ‘Domino’, ‘Ready or Not’, ‘ME= (나는)’, ‘Cherry on Top’ and ‘밤공기’. JUST B wants to unify people, saying that “you, plus me, equal us”. Only seven months since their previous comeback, the group is stronger than ever, and their energy is overflowing on stage. The members especially want to try out new concepts, as this mini album proves. In addition, the group is probably not unknown to you, since its members participated in the survival shows “Under Nineteen” and “I-LAND”, respectively in 2018 and 2020. After having made their debut on June 30, 2021, we find them on this day during a showcase being held in Seoul, on Nodeul Island as presented beforehand. The showcase begins with a photo time, allowing journalists present in the room to take photos of the members. A teaser video is also broadcast, in order to present the group. It is with all smiles that the six boys of the group JUST B express their joy at making their comeback, despite the stress and worry they feel at the prospect that their fans will not appreciate this new album. They also thank the fans who came to attend their concerts, especially the one that took place in Toronto, Canada. For them, it was really a special moment that will remain etched in their memory. We didn’t think we had so many overseas fans, our tour in Canada was really memorable Lim JiMin Their purpose as a group has therefore expanded, the members wishing to reach even more people with their music, and to spend more time with ONLY B, their fans. In addition, it is now possible for the group to meet their Korean fans with more peace of mind since the sanitary rules related to COVID-19 have eased. They are all very eager to start this new promotion period. Lim JiMin then briefly introduces the title track, quoting one of the lyrics “we know we are the same”, in order to represent the egalitarian vision they have of the world. Although the message of this album is heavy in meaning, the songs are nonetheless joyful and sparkling, in order to convey this message in the best possible way. They hope that the responses to this album will be positive. We really hope to be able to show you our bright energy during this comeback GeonU If you have not watched yet “ME=(나는)”, check the video below. After this brief presentation, the group takes place on stage to offer a first performance during this showcase, that of the title song ‘ME=(나는)’. Subsequently, the music video is broadcast, before JUST B returns on stage to discuss further with the journalists. The members more specifically present this new album, Bain declaring that they had hesitated to name this album “Equality” to sign the beginning of a new series of albums that they will be released thereafter. He adds that the members are finally very happy with the choice that was made ‘=NEUN’. They return once again to their trip, this time regarding Las Vegas. JM says it was the first time the members went overseas to shoot a music video, and the weather unsettled them, especially SangWoo, who had to drink a lot of water to stay hydrated. They also held a free hugs event for their fans, and for this new promotion period, DY was thinking of keeping the free hugs, but also making hearts with their fingers. Bain also selects the key point from the title song, as the moment when they sing “liar liar”. They then discuss their visual concept, in particular DY’s haircut which is platinum blonde, as well as the pastel theme of the album, so that we focus more on the message delivered. Finally, they are proud to state that GeonU, JM, and DY participated in writing the lyrics of the title track, as well as the last song, ‘밤공기’ in which DY also participated. You can check more about the visual in the jacket making behind below. I hope we get first place at a musical show, and if we do, we’ll all go bungee jumping! JM Then it’s time for journalists to ask JUST B a few questions. First, when asked what their goals are in the music industry, they say they hope they can stand on stage with other artists, as well as be able to compose their own song together one day. Then, to come back to their tour, Lim JiMin confides that the members tried to approach it calmly, without stressing too much at the prospect of being in front of their foreign fans. Bain hopes in the future to be able to hear about them “JUST B is JUST B, they’re doing well”. Finally, concerning the position of the members in the group, this one not being determined, DY says that the members have no limit and that they can try what they wish. This is why feedback from the fans is very important to them. It is with these last words that the group concludes this discussion session, and prepares for its second performance, that of the song ‘Ready or Not’. This song has the strong message of not worrying about life and going where you want. Lim JiMin, as the leader of the group, wishes the members, fans, and anyone who hears his message to stay healthy after this performance. Thus, JUST B definitely leaves the stage, having kept a big smile on the faces of the members until the end. You can find more pictures of the showcase here.
