The group has come back on Sep. 28, 2021, with 5 tracks that have been produced by various members. They are living up to their reputation as a self-produced group in that sense. Rain Company released the first teaser for the title track ‘콩깍지 (Blind)’ on Sep. 24.
Members Keita, TAG, and WON participated in the production of most of the songs. TAG said that it felt like an honor to be able to work on the songs. The first track on the album is called ‘Moon Night’ and was written by members WON and Keita, and composed by WON. The song is about wanting to change anxious feelings between lovers into faith. Track two is the title track ‘콩깍지 (Blind)’, which is about successfully confessing to the person that you like and expressing your sincere feelings to them. The lyrics were written by TAG, Keita, and WON, and TAG helped compose the song. The third track is ‘Joker’ with lyrics by TAG, Keita, and WON. It was composed by TAG and Keita. ‘Joker’ has a different color to it and represents Ciipher as a group. It is the song that you didn’t expect but grabs a hold of you and makes you continuously seek it. It is expressed through brass accompaniment and a strong beat with a lot of bass. Track four is ‘Go Ahead’ which is a song about not being able to do much for the one you love, but promising them that you can at least love them as nobody else can. It is asking the person you like to understand you. This song was also written by TAG and WON, and composed by TAG. The final track is ‘괜찮아’ written by TAG and Keita, and composed by TAG. It is about always showing the person you like your good side even though you may not actually be okay. Ciipher, with their leader HyunBin as the MC, opened up their showcase by performing their title track ‘콩깍지 (Blind)’ and playing the music video afterward. Their performance was playful and full of high energy to an upbeat rhythm. The stage was fun to watch and had you wanting to join the party atmosphere. The point choreography, which is a dance that they do by holding their fingers in a v-shape towards their eyes in an eye-opening movement, was also very catchy. They started by emphasizing how hard they worked to outdo their debut, which feels like it was the other day, and express how excited they are to be coming back. Kpopmap asked Ciipher, Considering your reputation as a self-produced group, how do you go about selecting songs and what aspect do you focus on whilst producing them? We usually gather a bunch of songs, some produced by us and some produced by other people, then do a type of blind test. Luckily our songs get chosen a lot of the time. Keita What do you think your current musical color is and what kind of artist would you like to be considered as, in the future? We have developed a lot since our debut and want to focus on showing that now. We’d like to be considered a group with positive energy that can be like a vitamin for people. Hwi The group, once again, emphasized that they want to give Clue an excellent comeback without any regrets and will give it their all, before closing the showcase.
