Suggestions will also be gradually added each week. Back to this week’s feature! Let’s get to know our crush, Jun! Jun is famous as a member of the talent-personified boy group A.C.E. The group is known for its powerful vocals, stage presence, and flawless synchronization of its choreography. Jun is the leader of the group and is known for his talent which only gets better and better. If you’re new to Jun, here is some basic information about him. He was born on June 2, 1994, and is a natural talent. He is one of the idols whose parents were very opposed to him becoming a singer. His father was especially against the idea as he wanted Jun to take over the family restaurant someday. However, he was persistent about his dream and pursued it as he didn’t want to regret not pursuing his passion. He had a long trainee period and worked extremely hard to debut. Jun was grabbing atten even before his debut, through a number of opportunities. He played a couple of different small roles in K-Dramas, performed in a musical, and more. Jun made his debut with A.C.E in 2017. In 2017, he also took part in the survival show “The Unit”. On the show, he showcased his leadership skills, his stable choreography, and endearing vocals. Did someone say triple threat?
Vocally, Jun can blow you away with his abilities. He is especially gifted when it comes to high notes and will take your breath away every time you hear him sing. His melodies are crystal clear and tug straight on the listener’s heartstrings. Check out this goosebump-raising cover of ‘Someone You Loved’.
He especially knows how to maximize the impact of a song’s killing parts as he is well-versed in the inner workings of music, as he writes lyrics and composes songs himself. When it comes to dancing, rhythm is Jun’s middle name. His name should be registered as Park ‘Rhythm’ JunHee but we’ll just acknowledge that middle name in our hearts for now. Do you want to see powerful dance moves? Watch Park JunHee. Do you want to admire emotive facial expressions? Watch Park JunHee. Do you want to see fluidity that flows effortlessly in dance moves? Again, watch Park JunHee. There is an addictive quality in watching him dance that stems from his overwhelming skills and sense of groove. Check out this classic dance cover of ‘Don’t Wanna Know’, which is a must-watch if you are just getting to know Jun’s talents.
Not only is Jun a talented idol, but he has taken the idol acting scene by storm. He has had a number of cameo and guest roles in K-Dramas before but recently got to play his first main character role. His latest and first lead acting role was in the BL web drama “Tinted With You”. Not only did he look dashing in his hanbok attire in the drama, but he also made a statement by taking on this acting challenge. When fans discovered that he would be taking on the role, they were pleasantly surprised. Jun himself says that he thought about taking on the role very carefully as he knew that the character who is a portrayal of a member of the LGBTQI+ community would receive a mixed response. Korea is still vastly conservative, and so he received a lot of praise for taking on the role despite this. Jun is quite open-minded and respects the values and decisions of everyone. In an interview, he especially emphasized that he knows many of his fans belong to the LGBTQI+ community and that he was proud to be able to tell a part of their story. This goes to show how self-aware and conscious he is of societal matters. His personality is generally golden. With his unique sense of humor in the mix, Jun is known for his maturity and lovable nature. He is one of the mood makers of the group and always boosts the positive energy in any dynamic.
As a leader, Jun is an irreplaceable force in A.C.E. He doesn’t have the nickname ‘firework leader’ for nothing. Whether it is encouraging members when they are down, comforting them during hard times, or nagging them to look after themselves; Jun’s level of care for the members is next to none. His leadership abilities are not only the anchor of the group but the anchor of Choice (A.C.E’s fandom). He always does his best to put his fans first and communicate with them whenever possible. Jun is the best when it comes to messaging on platforms such as Bubble, posting daily selfies, etc. He is a huge advocate for being yourself and embracing what makes you different. He often shares this message with his fans, serving as a figure who embodies a safe space where fans can come as they are and be themselves. Unfortunately, fans are missing Jun a lot due to his military enlistment. He is currently serving and is expected to be discharged in August of 2023. However, his fans’ love for him remains eternal as they patiently await his healthy and safe return. If you’re missing Jun, make sure to watch some of his vlogs and soak up the handsome nostalgia.
Lastly, let’s talk visuals. His visuals seem like they could be straight out of a mythological tale about an ethereal god. His chiseled features give him a statuesque charm that is artistic but he simultaneously appears soft. To put it simply, he has a radiance about him that makes you want to stare at him forever. What do you think? Do you have a crush on Jun?
